Back in 2005 when I had that internship where I learned about making copies and was living in Southern California, I decided to make a list of things I wanted to see in LA/Orange County. I was only there for ten weeks so having a list helped me prioritize what I wanted to see […]

I got to see Sarah McLachlan this weekend at the Bridge School benefit. She was amazing as always. It was an acoustic set of just her on the piano or guitar. She performed (not in this order) Building a Mystery, Angel, Adia, U Want Me 2, Don’t Give Up on Us, World […]

Earlier tonight, I had an evening packed with errands/life. I had an appointment in Palo Alto later in the evening but before that I needed to pick up a prescription from Safeway, change into workout clothes, get an hour of cardio at the gym, cleanup/become un-sweaty again, grab a quick bite to eat, and […]

muscular guy to another guy: “on the days you’re not training, just take a scoop of . . . “

I pass by this car dealership almost everyday on my way home from work. I’ve been wanting to take a photo of it for months and I finally got a chance today. I can’t decide what’s funnier - the grammatical error or the fact that it’s been up there for months.

I find the paradox between 24 Hour Fitness’ branding and the reality of their gyms to be rather interesting (read - disappointing, frustrating). After yet another unsuccessful weekend of apartment hunting, I decided that I didn’t have the energy, time, or resources to continue looking for a place in San Francisco. I love the city and think it would be awesome to […]

My optimism for finding an apartment in San Francisco (that I like, is in my price range, and in a good neighborhood) has reached an all time low this evening.  I saw three great apartments yesterday - in Noe Valley, the Mission, and Hayes Valley.  I fell in love with the place in Noe Valley […]

am I missing something?

I went shopping today at Valley Fair and I swear I saw more women wearing hijab than I knew lived in the South Bay.  Is today some sort of Muslim holiday that I’m totally unaware of?  Or did all the veiled women in Santa Clara county decide to go shopping today?

I came home tonight to find a notice from my landlord (Prometheus you suck) that they’re hiking up my already overpriced rent (they euphemistically referred to it as “new lease terms”).  The rate hike must be for the added bonus of the rat that I saw running around the grounds a couple of weekends ago […]
