Yoplait has done it again! Aside from their marketing people leaving way too many comments about my review of their revolting Yoplait Whips! Chocolate Mousse Style Yogurt, they’ve recently discontinued my favorite flavor - Coconut Cream Pie! I’ve been wondering why I haven’t been able to find it at my grocery store recently so I even checked their site and it isn’t anywhere to be found. I was so distraught at the possibility that they discontinued my favorite flavor that I even contacted them, desperately pleading that they bring it back (BABY COME BACK)! The Coconut Cream Pie flavor was a perfect pairing with berries. Now I’ve had to resort to purchasing their French Vanilla flavor, which is also good with berries but not as good as the Coconut Cream Pie flavor.
The discontinuation of Yoplait Coconut Cream Pie Yogurt can only mean one thing - Yoplait is out to get me! I so know they did this to get me back for dissing Yoplait Whips! Chocolate Mousse Style Yogurt.

I love complaining to huge faceless entities. That’s why I send emails to Universal Pictures at least once a year. I also recently emailed Pop-Tarts.

I hate to be a bearer of bad news, but you should consider never buying yogurt from companies like Yoplait and Dannon, as they have some pretty hideous food additives- like Carmine (a nice word for ground-up beetles) and gelatin (maybe not so bad unless you are a vegetarian or like to get your meat from organic sources). They also add in a lot of the “beneficial” things meant to be in yogurt, rather than making it naturally (as it’s quicker to make it with additives than let it ferment naturally - more profit for them.)
It’s so easy to make your own yogurt or kefir, and it’s so delicious. Also, Wallaby and Greek Gods make all-natural yogurts that are so superior to those supermarket brands you may never go back. I’m SURE in Cali you must have dozens of small manufacturers as well.
You couldn’t pay me to eat Yoplait! (just sayin)

I had no idea! That’s awful!
My parents make their own Middle Eastern yogurt but it tends to be a bit sour (and I associate it with savory things like rice and grape leaves).
I really do like the flavored yogurts but I’ll certainly try Greek yogurt (I believe I’ve seen it at my grocery store).

Fage greek yogurt is fantastic. Even the fat free is amazing and rich tasting/feeling. And if you want to be really indulgent, go to Whole Foods and get some Liberte yogurt (just avoid the one with goats on it. yuck goat milk.)
On the more budget end, Trader Joes is a good option too. I like their six-packs of strawberries and cream/bananas and cream yogurts. From what I remember of Yoplait, the consistency and flavor intensity is about the same.

yeah, I know what you mean about that savory/sour yogurts (love it, too!), but there is a honey flavored greek yogurt that it out of this world…Here in Michigan we have this yogurt brand called Trader’s Point from Indiana that comes in glass jars…reminds me of what you get in Europe (also packed in glass) - for some reason coming out of glass it seems to taste better!
I love yogurt!
I actually also love goat milk products (especially goat butter) but ONLY for savories! Kinda gamey.

I’d love to find something that has a flavor/texture that complements berries and other fruits. That was the great thing about the yogurt that I liked - it made me feel like I was eating some sort of fruit tart (you know the kind with the custard).

I know what you mean about the Yogplait yogurt being your fav. It was mine too. I called them and told them I was very upset with them. It’s been a bad year so far for us coconut lovers. Haggen Dass also discontinued their yummy coconut sorbet (which I loved to mix with chocolate soy milk for a shake).
I’m trying to find a good coconut extract I can add to some Fage with some real coconut.

You should really try Greek strained yogurt. It’s really good and keeps you full. I personally like the strawberry.

I am so dissappointed that they discontinued the coconut cream pie yogurt. I just had a bad feeling about it when I went to several stores looking for it and they didn’t have it.
I really hope they’d find it in their hearts to bring it back.I know Isure bought my share of it.I COULD EAT IT EVERYDAY AND LOTS OF DAYS THAT’S EXACTLY WHAT I DID.

You have got to be kidding me!
I have been buying this flavor of yogurt for over 10 years. It has be my only and favorite yogurt of choice. I will call and complain of my disgust that they discontinued this product and in hopes they will return it.
