Noor’s Blog
I’ve been thinking about starting a new blog to contain my thoughts about social software, HCI, and user experience. Some of the content will be my latest ideas about the field, reviews of the latest services I’ve been playing with, and some of my del.icio.us links (but with expanded commentary). So my question to you is - would you read another Noor blog that wasn’t about my daily rambles? If comment count is any indication, I don’t think anyone is interested in that type of content.
No offense to any of my friends who keep multiple blogs but I tend to find the practice of keeping more than one blog kind of self-important. Not only should you keep up with my blog but you should keep up with all of my blogs! Mwwahhahaaaa! :)
And there’s a part of me that doesn’t want to become one of THOSE people (with multiple blogs).
My name is Noor and this is my blog where I write about the mundane details of my life. I’m 30 and live in Northern California with my cats Mulder & Scully.

yes, and you should adopt a really ugly design with no images out of some inane belief that it is actually better.
You can call it: http://www.utilizeit.com

Oh, I see how you are…
I have a tough time keeping up multiple blogs, but one’s project-based and has a pretty short expected life. It will lie dormant evermore after May 2007.
So, does a step blog count as a separate blog?
Anyway, I would read another Noor blog, especially if it gets aggregated in SIclops, since I’m still RSS-reluctant.

Do it! More on the nose, write the new content, here or elsewhere — whatever you please.
Free idea of the day: if you want to start a new blog, find a couple other SI alums or some other reasonable grouping and get a few people in on the action. You avoid the stigma of becoming one of “those” people by in fact becoming an organizer!

No offense Andrea but I usually have a hard time telling your two blogs apart!

I would recommend strongly writing a blog with the narrowest focus that you can possibly sustain, especially one that’s avowedly “professional” and easily aggregated with others that are in that same niche. When I did that last I turned a general purpose blog with 250 readers into two blogs, one with 400 and one with 900+ readers. There’s more people who can follow something which is unpersonal (and that leaves you more latitude to be personal in your personal blogs).
