At the end of last semester, my infoviz group and I had to give back the pedometers we were kindly given to play with while working on Fitster. Since then, I’ve wondered many times, “How many steps have I taken today?” and I’ve often found myself reaching into my pocket looking for the pedometer. Today, Amazon finally delivered the pedometer that I ordered several weeks ago. This model is the exact same one we used during our Fitster pilot study except that the Fitster model had a USB port. I can’t wait to wear it tomorrow and see how many steps I can get in.

How is it working?
I still miss mine quite often.
I forgot about wearing it until 2:30 p.m.! I only have 500 steps so far!
I miss mine too — I’m thinking hard about getting the one you’ve got. I kinda want to find the USB one though, even if it’s only available in Japan…
Heh, I just went ahead and ordered one — mine is supposed to be here Wednesday!
did you get the American or Japanese version?
wow, talk about viral marketing!
I got the lame American one. Entering the data manually might actually give me more of an incentive to pay closer attention to the counts… we’ll see!
Stat of the day: less than 14 minutes for mattbot to change his mind and order a lame American pedometer.
hmm how lame (in somebody’s else’s word) is it if somebody who wasn’t in your lame group went out a bought that pedometer?
not lame at all, it merely emphasizes the captivating power of my blog, our project, and pedometers in general! :)
and they are pretty affordable right now!
Okeedokee, pedometer has been bought. Now, where do y’all sit and compare steps taken?
umm . . . my blog, mattbot’s, apete’s . . .
