I’m in the market for a new digital camera. I’m mainly wanting a new one for my Dubai trip and because my current digicam is kind of falling apart. I currently have a Canon PowerShot S40 (4 mega pixels). I really love this camera and I’m looking for something similar — except smaller in physical size (and hopefully one that can take both rechargable and regular batteries . . . if that is possible). I don’t know much about cameras but I’ve hated the few Olympus cameras I’ve played with (lighting was always an issue). I’ve always had Canon cameras mostly because I grew up seeing my dad only use a Canon camera. I could be persuaded to buy a Nikon but it might be a tough sell.
Any ideas?

I like my Kodak EasyShare. It works with regular batteries. I go through a lot of batteries, but I like that I don’t have to wait hours for it to charge. I also like the different features it gives me, I have used it to take pictures of mountains and of flowers and it gives me great photos everytime. I have the 5 megapixel, but you can get the 6 pretty cheap now too.
I have a Nikon Coolpix 5200, which rocks. The battery’s rechargeable & seems to last a while, it’s 5 megapix, it has a nice big screen, and it takes short videos too. I have it with me today if you wanna see it.
OMG! I feel so honored! You never comment! You usually just stalk my blog!
Thanks for the advice; I’ll check out your camera in infoviz.
